West Bend Theatre Company, Inc. has announced its 2023-2024 theater season. Works by contemporary, classic, local, and nationally recognized playwrights will be featured.
"SYLVIA" is a romantic comedy about a man, a mid-life crisis, a marriage, and a dog named "Sylvia" played by an adult actress. "Sylvia" personifies the mid-life crisis of Greg. "Sylvia" is also the antagonist of Kate, Greg's wife. Written by AR Gurney, the show has been called "a comic masterpiece." Auditions are set for August and performances in October. "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" is the Charles Dickens classic with Victorian Christmas Carols - and the annual redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge. A cast of over 40 will be on stage singing and dancing. Love, laughter and holiday tradition make this a community favorite. Auditions will be in September, and Performances in December. Roles for All Ages. Directed by Tina Binns.
"BLIND DATING AT HAPPY HOUR" is slated for the Valentine's season. Written & Directed by local Playwright, Shaun Kaempf. The company will host auditions in January, with Performances in February.
"ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE" is Jimmy Buffet's 2017 American jukebox musical. Buffet is known for his island and beach rhythms. The show is a tropical romp, with a live band on stage. Songs include "Son of A Sailor," "Come Monday," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise" along with the title song, "Margaritaville." Auditions will be in February, with Performances in May.
